GUIDELINES FOR THE ILLUSTRATOR

There has been a bit of discussion lately on the fair practices for illustrators. Because this concerns me on many levels I have prepared a webpage with my personal guidelines. Because this set of suggestions may be helpful to others in our industry, I have included a link to the page here. An Illustrators Guidelines.

Great suggestions, Ginger. I am preparing an agreement this weekend, and I will go back and look at your guidelines to make sure I am not forgetting anything. What a helpful post.

Just some thoughts. These would have helped me a lot when I first started illustrating for children's books. And I refer to them even now as I get ready for the next assignment. One of the things that may not work for others is the fact that these guidelines are pointed toward digital finishes. But even so, I think they can be helpful.
